Hi! I'm Beth Montes, the person who dreamed up ActiveTrips and brought it into reality.  Although I'm new to the outdoor travel industry, I'm an old hand at all sorts of travel, especially the outdoor active kind, and have a good track record of creating and operating successful businesses that focus on excellent customer service.

I started my first business in 1981, doing custom computer programming.  It grew and evolved over the years, eventually becoming I-Land Internet Services, an Internet Service Provider in Sedalia MO.  It continues as a very solid business, providing Internet access for over 14,000 households and businesses, high speed connections of several types, and web design and hosting services.

I stopped working at I-Land in early 1999, and began seriously laying plans for ActiveTrips.  Much research and travel followed, I became Wilderness First Responder emergency medicine certified, and laid out itineraries to some of my favorite places.  Now guides and assistants are lined up (see Jobs if you're interested in an opportunity to work with ActiveTrips) and I'm ready to take you on a restful, challenging, peaceful, stimulating adventure, to some of the most appealing locations I've discovered.
